An Icy West Side Walk

Buffalo’s weather is uncertain at times. It can be cold and blizzard like one day and then the snow melts and is rainy the next. On this day, it rained and the rain froze. Roads and sidewalks were icy and navigating them required caution and skill. Most of the sidewalks were salted while some weren’t. Nevertheless, I walked and was awestruck by how the streets of Buffalo’s lower west side were transformed into an icy wonderland. I was amazed at how beautiful the neighborhood looked in a coat of ice. The clinging ice made objects look like sculpted works of art. Some of the pictures I’m sharing do no justice in showing the true beauty of the subjects covered in frozen rain.
